Jaxon

Children in Foster Care

When teenage boy Jaxon's mum was remanded he started life like many other children in foster care and caused placement problems.

When Jaxon's mother was remanded in custody, he moved into foster care much to the indignation of the two children who were already placed there. Anti-authority and having been brought up on an estate with questionable moral values, Jaxon didn't conform to anything but his own beliefs, unhelped by achieveing little academically.

Readily dismissed as yet another teenager in foster care that little could be done for, what was actually going on in his life was overlooked, placing himself, his brother and others in serious danger. How would you offer the right level of care and support to Jaxon and what were the responsibilities of his social worker and foster carers? Check out our social work values page here.
